Life is crazy busy around here, so I was very glad to have these 6 Quick and Easy Crock Pot Recipes on hand to help us have a home cooked meal even when we don’t know if we are coming or going!
Aunt Lou here.
I’m not sure that life ever slows down…no matter what season it is. It just happens to be summer the moment I am writing this. That means go-go-g0 for us. It also means it is HOT outside. Indiana knows how to do it up right when it comes to heat and humidity. So any chance this momma can get to not be turning on her oven, you know I’m gonna take it! So when Indiana’s Family of Farmersasked me to do the $50 Challenge again (and write a sponsored post to tell you fine folks about it), I knew I wanted to have recipes that could be fixed in a hurry and wouldn’t be heating up my kitchen!
Haven’t heard of the $50 Challenge yet? It is where I take $50 and see how many meals I can make out without going over…not even one penny! I don’t include normal staples (you know, salt, pepper, ketchup, milk, butter, etc…stuff you normally have hangin’ around your kitchen), but I do include everything else. Now this month’s receipt pic is a bit unusual, you see, my fav store to get my groceries, Ruler Foods, did not have pepperoncinis, so I had to go across the road to their sister store, Jay-C, to pick those up. “But, Lou! There are three receipts!” you say. Well, as I was unloading my cart at Ruler, a gravy packet slipped down the side, and I didn’t see it until AFTER I had already paid, so I had to pay for it separately.
Now I left you a little bit of wiggle room for some apples or oranges to go with your meals or as snacks throughout the day. You can pick the fruit that works best for your family. You could also pick up some strawberries, but you don’t get quite as big of a bang for your buck. With apples, you can rinse them ahead of time and throw them in your bagwhenyou run out the door, or you could have your oranges already cut up in slices and stored in airtight containers or baggies for a great on-the-go treat. Both are a great way to get a a dose of Vitamin-C!
Now this is way more food than my family could even eat in a week, so if you have a larger family…you are in luck! If you have the same size or smaller family, you can customize this meal plan to fit your specific needs!
