Pets are a great way to get bonuses in Across the Obelisk, which you will need. Bonuses and things like that go a long way in Across the Obelisk, so having as many pets as you can get is crucial in winning battles. There are a total of 12 pets in this game, but more will be added for sure in the game as it goes on. For now, we will show you how to unlock each pet in Across the Obelisk.
Pet Unlock Guide – Across the Obelisk
We’ll start off with Asmody, which can be found in A Fun Game, a rare event. You have to follow a set of choices in order to get Asmody to be unlocked, as well as paths that you need to take.
After riding the waterfall down, you will be given dialogues to choose from that will lead you to the next area. Choose the third option “[Threaten] Try to scare them before you enter.”
You will then be taken to act two, which takes place in an area with lava flowing down. You will have to make your way to an empty tent that’s located on the bottom right of the map.
Once you reach the empty camp, you will choose the fourth option “[Explore} Search the tents for a copy of the book that talks about the colors of hell.”
Then skipping act three, you will move on to act four, which is an area that looks like it’s been destroyed, but kept floating together by magic. You will go the ancient library, which is located at the top right of the map.
Once at the ancient library, you will have to choose the fifth option “[Explore} Search for a copy of the book “Demon summoning guide”.”
After choosing the fifth option, you will have to proceed to the second floor of act four, then choose the Magic Circle, which is at the bottom of the map.
You will be given four choices here, but choose “[Use] As the demon summoning guide says, you press black, orange and red.” This will then give you Asmody.
Next is Betty, who is very easy to unlock. In the Main Road, you will encounter the lost sheep rare event.
You will then have a choice to either leave or combat. Choose “[Combat] Confront the sheep and then return Betty to her owner.”
After the fight, this will open up a new path to Betty’s Home.
Once you reach Betty’s home, you can choose between two choices to keep Betty. “[Bargain] You offer him 500g to keep Betty for yourselves.” Or “[Murder] You kill the farmer and keep Betty for yourselves.” Both choices will work, as it only depends on your moral compass.
The next pets you can unlock are actually a trio named Champy, Chompy, and Chumpy. You have to make it to act two first to get the goblin chieftain, which is a common event.
You will have to choose “[Combat] Kill them all and loot the camp.” and fight a mini boss. After this, you will be taken to act three.
Once in act three, you will have to go to the Island, which has the tyrant common event. You will need 1000g for this one, so make sure to be prepared.
You will have to fight a mini boss here. But once you defeat the mini boss, you will have to choose between the three. You can always run the game again to get the other two.
In act three as well, you can get Dalley through the unlucky trainer event in the Forest. You will need 500g with you, as well as a deck with high cards only. You will need to a roll of 5 in order to catch Dalley. Once you do, you will unlock Dalley.
Next is Flamy. In act one, you have to reach the Suspicious Hatch for a map transition.
You will need Cornelius with you on this one, as he can help you get in easily. Without Cornelius, you can still enter, but you will risk injury to your party.
Once you go through, you will have to go to the boss. Having Cornelius will make this easy, but if you don’t, you will have to choose “[Persuade] Ohh great Belphyor… maybe there is something we can do for you?”
Once that’s through, you will then go to act two to do a quest, which is releasing imps at a banquet. Head to the Stone Table for the banquet character event.
Release the imps, and one of those imps will be Flamy, who will follow you instead.
Up next is Liantra and you will need to go to the spiders cave. You will need Thuls with you on this first part. If you don’t, you will have to choose the only other option.
Once you reach the second event, you will need to have Heiner here with you. If you don’t, choose “[Enter] Take your chances with the gap.” Once you reach inside, you will then examine a cocoon, which is Liantra. This will then add Liantra to your pets.
Next is Mozzy. You will need Thuls with you for this, as well as 1000g. Head to the Marsh Deeps for the mosquito nest rare event.
Here, Thuls will be able to get the eggs easily. But if you don’t have Thuls, you will have to chance it with “[Steal] Attack them to loot the gold and shards.”
After getting the egg, you will have to go to the lava zone again and head to the Lava Cascade to boil the egg, which unlocks Mozzy.
Next is Oculy. Go to the Aqueduct for the monster trainer event. You can either pay 600g or do a quest. We recommend to just pay the gold if you have it, just to avoid wasting time. But if you prefer to get Oculy for free, you can just do the quest.
Next is Orby. You will have to go to the Crane for the obsidian shipment event.
Once at the shipment, you will have to ambush them with the second option. Once done, you will then have to wait till you reach act four, in which you travel to the forge to hand them the obsidian, which unlocks Orby.
You can also find Sharpy in the lava zone in the Harpy Nest with the harpy Matriarch common event.
You will have to fight the boss to get the harpy egg, which you then take to the green zone.
At the green zone, head to the Altar of songs. You will need 800g for the boat to the altar, or you can do the quest that grants you a free boat ride.
Once you’re at the altar of songs, you will then unlock Sharpy by choosing the fourth option.
To get Slimy, you will need Thuls at the lizardmen tribe. It’s not a requirement, but having Thuls with you will let you get slime bait for a much cheaper price.
Then take the slime bait to the spider caves and head to the bottom of the caves where you can use the slime bait to get Slimy.
Lastly is Stormy. You can get Stormy by going to the Eastern Village in the green zone for the empty village event. Just examine everything there, but do not do anything else besides that. You will find notes that will unlock Stormy.
Head to the lightning runes and you will select the fourth option to unlock Stormy.
