Description

The aerospace industry is a steadily growing field and thus an extremely important and decisive global economic factor. Aerospace science and technology drives innovations in multitudes of disciplines and thus must be regarded as a pioneering technology field. The Technical University of Darmstadt focusses its long-standing and broad expertise in this field in order to establish a dedicated modern Aerospace Engineering education in the framework of a master‘s degree program. Due to its international and global character and relevance, this master‘s degree program is offered in English by internationally renowned aerospace engineering experts.

The Master‘s degree program „Aerospace Engineering“ understands itself as the link between engineering tradition and technological future. Consequently, the curriculum touches upon important and essential basics as well as modern and forward-looking technological aspects of aerospace engineering sciences in order to convey competences for prospective students for the establishment of engineering system solutions. Preparing the students for the scientific orientated Master’s thesis at the end of their study, a broad range of courses are offered: from traditional basics (e.g. structural mechanics, fluid dynamics, flight mechanics) and applied disciplines to innovative and modern teaching forms such as face2face tutorials in very small groups, for instance in the field of additive manufacturing or co*ckpit design.

Aerospace is a constantly growing field and thus an extremely important and decisive global economic factor. Aerospace science and technology drives innovation in a multitude of disciplines and thus must be regarded as a pioneering technology field. Mechanical engineers for aerospace are therefore in demand as specialists worldwide, both within this industry and beyond.

After successfully completing your studies, you will work in the aerospace industry and can start your career in the direction of computation, construction, aerodynamics, testing, research or mission control, depending on your personal interests.

Employers for aerospace engineering graduates can be well-known aerospace companies and industrial groups such as ESA, Airbus, Boeing or Jeppesen. But engine manufacturers, research, monitoring and testing institutions, engineering offices or consulting firms are also possible employers. The career fields of technical journalism and technical communication offer further opportunities.

It is therefore important to gain your own practical experience at an early stage in relevant institutions alongside your studies, to prove your general practical aptitude and to establish contacts. The prospect of a good position is increased by the willingness to be professionally mobile, also abroad. You are already well prepared for such a stay abroad, as you have already mastered your entire Master's programme in English.
