How much is that ticket???? If you receive a ticket, you may be shocked at the final price of the ticket. Did you know that the state, county and city add fees and penalties on top of the base ticket? Examples of these additional assessments include: court operations fees, state penalty fee, county penalty fee, DNA Identification fund penalty fee, state court construction fee, emergency medical services fee, and more. Because of this, your ticket with a base fee under $40 could cost you upwards of $150! For example, in Los Angeles a distracted driving ticket while using a cell phone might have a base fee of $20, but could cost $158. Plus, if you get caught again within 36 months, you will be fined again and also receive one point on your driving record, which could also raise your insurance rates. The only way to avoid this unnecessary expense is to drive safely and obey the laws and rules of the road! Read more here.
