What is the most popular car in San Francisco? ›

You don't need a car to explore central San Francisco; most of the top sites are within walking distance or are easily reached by the Muni.

The top three passenger cars sold in California in 2023 were the Tesla Model 3, the Toyota Camry, and the Honda Civic. The top three light trucks for the year were the Tesla Model Y, the Toyota RAV4, and the Honda CR-V. Toyota held its place as the top-selling brand in California again in 2023.

Sedans aren't dead, and the Toyota Camry is proof of that. It retains the title of best-selling sedan in America, proving more popular than notable SUVs like the Jeep Grand Cherokee, Chevrolet Equinox, and Ford Explorer. Sales were nearly stagnant in 2023, though, dropping slightly by 1.5 percent.

The slowest-selling car in America is once again the 2024 Dodge Hornet. In fact, Stellantis brands like Jeep and Maserati occupy much of the top 10. These cars are slow sellers, and are especially negotiable. Don't pay a dollar over MSRP for any of these cars!

With an average of just 34.4 days on the market, the Honda HR-V leads the pack as the fastest selling used car.
