During the summer after my sophom*ore year, I was a research intern in Stanford's CURIS (Undergraduate Research Interships in Computer Science—get it? get it? ...) program. Under the direction of Professor Philip Levis and his amazing graduate students Ewen Cheslack-Postava and Behram Mistree, we explored the possibilities of distributed virtual worlds by writing applications in the Emerson scripting language (based on Javascript) for the Sirikata platform.
