With Dead Space Remake released on January 27, 2023, four different editions are available. This guide will provide information on what each edition offers, which platforms you can get these editions on and PC system requirements!
Which Platforms is Dead Space Available On
The Dead Space remake is available on the PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Physical copies of Dead Space are limited to consoles with PC only having digital copies available.
Those with access to EA Play and Xbox Game Pass have a 10% discount on the standard and deluxe editions of Dead Space.
Dead Space Edition Differences
The Dead Space remake has four editions: Standard, Deluxe, EA Play Pro, and Collector’s edition. Each offer the base game however the Deluxe and Collector’s editions offer more in terms of digital goods and even physical goods for the Collector’s.

Standard Edition
Dead Space is available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox X|S at $69.99 USD for physical copies and $59.99 USD for digital copies.
The standard edition of Dead Space offers the base game without any add-ons. With the standard edition, you can relive the horror of Dead Space with the ground-up rebuild of the USG Ishimura and everything within it.
With new challenges and features, will you be able to survive the onslaught of necromorphs or will you perish and be among the fallen of the USG Ishimura’s crew?
Deluxe Edition
Dead Space: Deluxe Edition is available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox X|S at $79.99 USD for physical copies and $69.99 USD for digital copies.
The Deluxe Edition of Dead Space includes the base game along with 5 cosmetics including three RIG suits and two suit skins.
The suits act as a cosmetic overlay over the RIG suit the player is currently wearing. The Infested, Lone Survivor and Venture change completely the look of the suit you are wearing, while the Sanctified and Bloody are texture variations.
The Infested Suit is an interesting one as it gives Isaac Clarke the appearance of being under the effect of the necromorph infection. Flesh tendrils and other growths burst through the RIG suit with what appears to be Isaac’s skull being exposed on the right half of his face. If you want to roleplay an Isaac Clarke that is still fighting against the Marker despite being infected himself then this is the suit for you!
The Lone Survivor Suit gives Isaac a more brutal and primitive look with dismembered hands attached to his helmet paired with a necklace containing fingers, ears, and other viscera. This suit can be reminiscent of how the cultists in the Dead Space 3 DLC, Awakened, appeared with how they modified their bodies to mimic necromorphs.
The Venture Suit is my personal favorite of the Deluxe Edition suits as it proved a clean and well-armored appearance.
The Sanctified Suit Texture is one of the two that can be obtained with the purchase of the Deluxe Edition of Dead Space. This RIG features words written in Unitology all over the metal portions of the suit.
If I was asked to translate this back in 2008, I would have been able to do so without aid. However, my Unitology has become rusty over the years and the image below provides what I could translate for now.
It appears to be your standard Unitologist scrawling you would find written in blood around the Ishimura. On the suit you can find words such as “UNITY”, “CHURCH”, “LIVE”, along with other nouns and adverbs. Until a higher resolution image is released or until I can get access to this suit on January 27th, we’ll be unable to translate the full suit.
The Bloodied Suit Texture is the second texture cosmetic available with the Deluxe Edition of Dead Space. This is one of the more thematically appropriate cosmetics that comes with the Deluxe Edition as it would be almost impossible to keep one’s suit clean while aboard the USG Ishimura during the necromorph outbreak.

Dead Space EA Play Pro Edition
Dead Space EA Play Pro Edition is only available on PC with an active subscription to EA Play Pro.
This service allows one to access a wide catalog of EA games so long as the subscription is active with discounts on new games. This is just the Deluxe Edition with the addition of a third suit texture, the Anodized Suit Texture.
The Anodized Suit Texture gives the player the appearance of an Advanced Engineering Rig with a matte, navy blue finish. In a game known for having an abundance of browns, grays, and orange tones throughout, the blue armor can provide a nice contrast with the environment.
Collector’s Edition
Dead Space: Collector’s Edition is available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox X|S at $274.99 USD.
Are you looking to become whole again? If you answered “Yes”, then perhaps this is the edition of Dead Space you want.The Collector’s Edition stands out from the other editions in that it is the only copy to come with physical goods along with the base game.
This is geared for the most dedicated Dead Space fans (that can afford it) but it comes at the steep price of $274.99. Pre-orders for the Collector’s Edition have ended with remaining copies selling on a first come first serve basis.

The Collector’s Edition Box is the box that contains the entirety of the Collector’s Edition. It features art of Isaac Clarke walking through a doorway on the USG Ishimura with the words “Dead Space” on the corners. This is a visually appealing box and whoever designed it really wanted the art of Isaac to be the focal point as the title is pushed away to show it off. This was a good decision on the designer’s part as this can let this box act as a nice display piece for a shelf.
The Dead Space SteelBook would make an excellent case to hold the physical disks for the Xbox and PS5 versions of the game. Though for the PC version, it could at most hold the code that came with the box as the PC lacks a physical disk. Still, the imagery of Isaac’s helmet on one half with Aegis 7 on the other makes it look fantastic.
The Foil Stamped Lithographic Folio contains a lithograph print of Isaac Clark contained in a bi-folding portfolio. The Dead Space logo in the front is foil stamped so it’ll provide a nice sheen to the words “Dead Space”. You can never go wrong with having a nice art print for your video game collection, especially when it comes with its own fancy portfolio.
The Soundtrack and Four Mini Posters need little explanation. The former is the CD soundtrack containing the songs used within Dead Space. Meanwhile the mini posters mimic safety posters we are likely to see around the USG Ishimura. These include posters that say “Safety Protects People”, “Secure All Tool Guns”, “Teamwork Improves Safety”, and “Fired Up For Work”. Good advice, especially when your tools are what you’re using to defeat necromorphs. Take care of your tools and they’ll take care of you.
The USG Ishimura Patch is an embroidered patch featuring the USG Ishimura emblem that you’ll find throughout the ship. It measures 3 inches (7.62 cm) though it is unknown at this time if it is an iron-on patch or a sew-on patch, likely the former. Fun fact: when translated from Japanese, “Ishimura” comes out as “Stone Village”. A fitting name for a ship designed for mining where many would come to live here for months to years at a time.
The Marker Enamel Pin features the Unitology depiction of the Marker. Previews of this pin show that this pin has a lustrous, metallic sheen to it and would look great on a shirt, backpack, or anywhere else you can place this pin on.
The Marker Statuette measures up to 4 inches in height and is described by the staff as “heavy” as it is made of metal. This mimics the markers you can sometimes find on Unitologist’s desks throughout the series and is a depiction of the original Black Marker that landed on Earth.
The Black Marker is what wiped out the dinosaurs in the Dead Space lore and was later discovered in the Yucatán Peninsula where an outbreak of necromorphs occurred. With the help of Doctor Altman, the outbreak was stopped though Altman would be made into a martyr after his demise.
Dead Space lore aside, this is a piece of the Collector’s Edition that can make any Dead Space fan envious.
This is in no doubt, the primary collectible that is sought after with the Collector’s Edition, the Isaac Clarke Helmet. This helmet was discussed in the “Celebrating Dead Space Livestream” where we learned a lot of its features. It appears to be made of plastic, has an adjustable size, and is described as being able to fit larger head sizes. It also has built-in lights to light up the visor, likely LEDs. There is no better piece in the Collector’s Edition and is simply a work of art.
Please be aware that this edition ships worldwide, but it is extremely expensive. The delivery costs can easily reach or even surpass the cost of the package itself. And you should be prepared to face long delays and other issues for long-distance orders.
Which Dead Space Edition should you get
If you are looking to just play or replay the game and live or relive the horrors you remember from your childhood/younger years, the Standard Edition is enough. You get the full game with upgraded graphics and some other changes that you can read more about below.
For the big fans with a little deeper pockets, the Deluxe edition offers a number of new suits to play around with, experimenting with both looks and perks. If you plan to do more with the game than just play through it once and move on, maybe this edition is a better choice for you.
For the truly obsessed fans, the Collector’s Edition is a rare treasure and would really make you stand out from the crowd. If you like collecting physical goodies on top of digital ones, this edition will be perfect for you. It comes at a price, as you saw, of course. And who knows how long it will be available.
What’s New in the Dead Space Remake
As it there have been two generations of consoles since the original release of Dead Space, technology and expectations from video games have changed quite significantly. With the ever-present demand for higher fidelity and unique gameplay, the developers met that challenge head on and the results look promising.
Along with an overhaul of the graphics, you can expect numerous gameplay differences as well. New ways to dismember necromorphs, the return of the Zero-G controls and impalement system from Dead Space 2, and the addition of the Intensity Director are only a few of the upcoming changes to Dead Space. Players can expect their return to the USG Ishimura to be a lot more challenging than the original experience.
