Here is an update on Jam Media and the lack of over the air radio stations. I hope someone buys them. |

Bummer, but old skool OTA just can’t compete (ad revenue wise) w streaming (where all you need is a laptop and be online, working in your proverbial underwear). Wish it weren’t the case. Having said that not sure the last time I even tried the am/fm band in the car radio. Being a radio guy, maybe assemble a crew of former/back in the day DJs and do some guest spots and go fund me site. |

Bummer, but old skool OTA just can’t compete (ad revenue wise) w streaming (where all you need is a laptop and be online, working in your proverbial underwear). My car (Volvo) does not even have an AM radio. They say the electronics in the car would drive AM radio crazy, so it has none. |

With these stations now gone, what OTA stations still can be heard on FM? Is anything left other than some NPR left of the dial? |

My car (Volvo) does not even have an AM radio. They say the electronics in the car would drive AM radio crazy, so it has none. Our 2025 Honda Pilot has AM radio in it. No CD player . I listen to 3-4 news-talk programs on AM 790 WNIS out of Norfolk VA. The weekend programming is sales folks selling their services. Reception is good as long as you avoid the bypass with those high-voltage lines that parallels the road. Reception is fine on the beach road. It is a pity Jam Media didn't try offering fewer stations instead of trying to capture the OBX radio market. |

Yeah, it's true (you must have an XC90?). If i'm not mistaken the car is perpetually on line...reporting road conditions to the cloud, geo tagging, then pushing out to any other XCs in the area. |

Back in the early 1980's I was working Summers (Towing the banners with the plane). The only radio station then was WOBX, not sure if that was the call sign back then. 1530 am. If you were real lucky sometimes you could get some Norfolk stations. TV? Nothing. |
